ABOUT OUR CHAPTER
The Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Chapter of NAWIC is a diverse group of women. We have members ranging from 22-92, from working in the office to the real “get your hands dirty” type of field work. What brings us together is our desire to support the advancement and employment of women in the construction industry.
Our Chapter holds monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at 5:30 pm. These meetings may include a jobsite tour, an educational session, or a hands-on workshop. This is followed by a dinner meeting at a nearby restaurant. (During the pandemic we are taking special precautions to make our members safe, please be patient with us as we are all walking through new territory)
We are a casual bunch who enjoys having fun. Our meetings are filled with laughter and lighthearted banter. Members typically join for professional reasons, but end up building long-lasting friendships through their membership, too.
But don't let our fun-loving nature mislead you. Our chapter knows how to get things done. We are not a big chapter, but our members give their all to see a project through to a successful completion. Our Block Kids, Industry Appreciation Night, and annual Golf Outing events are testimony to this.
Don’t take our word for it. Come to our next meeting and see for yourself!
